Description

ION Solar is a rapidly expanding, full-service residential solar company with a strong nationwide presence. Our dedicated team is committed to making solar energy accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.

The Utility Technician contributes to ION Solar by submitting pre and post installation applications to the utility companies that service our customers to get permissions for installation and system energization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Submission of pre or post-installation applications to various utility companies
  • Proactive communication with customers and utility companies through various channels (phone, email, text)
  • Management of timelines from submission to approval with various utility companies
  • Interdepartmental communication and collaboration to resolve problems
  • Participate in utility company meetings as required, and collaborate with compliance and sales teams to stay informed of any changes or updates, ensuring that all processes and records are current.
  • Keep all records and documentation up to date with the utility companies' changing requirements, ensuring compliance with the latest standards and guidelines.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) that are clear, concise, and easy for employees to follow, ensuring consistency in the application process.
  • Research and compile detailed information on how to apply for utility companies' net metering programs to ensure proper approvals are obtained.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Customer service experience required
  • Solar experience preferred

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced, open floor office environment with significant computer and phone usage. Utilization of complex systems. Speed and accuracy are essential to the successful completion of tasks.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Regular requirement to talk, or hear; frequent requirement to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. May encounter interruptions throughout the work day.
