Do you want to work with the 15th fastest-growing startup in Europe? If so, you’re in the right place.
AssetCool is one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups, building the fastest path to more power on the grid.
We’re tackling one of the most urgent challenges in the global energy transition: grid congestion. Electricity demand is rising fast; driven by electrification, AI and data centres. While traditional grid upgrades take years, demand exists today. The grid isn’t ready.
AssetCool delivers robotic grid upgrades that physically increase the capacity of existing transmission lines by up to 30%, without rebuilding infrastructure. Using advanced robotics and proprietary photonic coatings, we unlock data-centre-scale capacity in weeks to months, not years and at a fraction of the cost and disruption of conventional approaches.
Our technology goes beyond capacity. We reduce losses, prevent corrosion, cut corona noise and generate high-value operational data that supports smarter grid operation and maintenance. Our systems are already deployed globally, and we just raised a big funding round from leading energy and climate investors.
AssetCool is one of the most innovation-driven companies in the UK energy sector and we’re scaling fast! If you’re ambitious, mission-driven and excited to work on real deployments that strengthen the industry that really matters, AssetCool is where you can make it happen.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to build our first-of-its-kind data facility in India, focused on overhead power line operations. This is a greenfield role with genuine strategic weight and you'll be the person who takes this from an empty brief to a fully operational data collection centre.
You'll own the full build: facility selection, vendor contracting, team recruitment, budget development, and day-to-day operations once live. You'll work closely with AssetCool's UK-based leadership and AI research team, with significant autonomy on the ground in India.
This is not a desk job. It requires someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and making things happen with limited hand-holding.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a full operational plan and budget within two months of starting, covering facility setup, staffing, equipment, and ongoing data collection operations.
- Lead facility selection, lease negotiation, and fit-out for a large-scale (30,000–50,000 sq ft) warehouse or industrial unit with specialist infrastructure requirements.
- Recruit, onboard, and manage a mixed team of skilled linemen and semi-skilled operators (target team size 25–50).
- Oversee daily data collection operations, ensuring targets and quality standards set by the AI research team are consistently met.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships across equipment supply, fit-out, and data infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain reporting cadences with UK leadership, providing clear visibility on progress, risks, and spend.
- Drive the facility to operational readiness by September 2026, with first data collection milestones in Q4 2026.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven project or operations management experience in overhead line construction, inspection, or maintenance — or a closely related field execution environment.
- Experience managing large, mixed-skill workforces in a site or facility setting.
- Strong commercial acumen — comfortable owning a budget, negotiating contracts, and managing vendors.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions without close oversight.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience reporting to senior stakeholders across time zones.
- Familiarity with health and safety requirements for industrial or construction environments.
- Prior experience standing up a new facility or operation from scratch is a strong advantage.
Why Join AssetCool?
- Work on groundbreaking technology revolutionizing the power grid.
- Fast-growing startup with significant industry traction and large-scale projects.
- Collaborative, innovation-driven team with exciting career growth opportunities.
- Competitive salary, and flexible work options
