Opening Paragraph:

Gain deep technical and functional expertise of the Distributed Intelligence eco-system, specifically in the area of DI Apps and DI Agents. These components make up DI Outcomes, delivering data to back-office systems providing Utilities with greater insight into edge analytics. Drive requirement analysis and system design for new requirements relating to Apps, Agents, and interfaces with back-office components.

This position offers the opportunity to work on the cutting-edge of edge analytics within Itron’s Distributed Intelligence IoT platform, that addresses common Utility challenges or use cases to enable Utilities to gain better understanding and control over conditions and assets in the Field.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with PLMs to understand use cases, Customer and Business needs.

  • Create system designs to meet customer needs and requirements.

  • Create and maintain system-related technical documentation.

  • Perform various analyses to optimize total system architecture.

  • Prepare artifacts for peer and SME review.

  • Work with Tech Writers to review user documentation and training materials.

  • Assist SMEs with troubleshooting Test and Field issues.

  • Contribute to the bug resolution process to ensure Customer issues are addressed and changes to products do not negatively impact the Customer.

  • Be able to prioritize workload and manage time to meet demands and complete tasks within allotted timeframe.

Required Skills & Experience:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology or related engineering field plus five (5) years of related experience in application development or support in a Linux based environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Proven knowledge of embedded Linux development.

  • Proven ability to solve problems with data driven critical thinking.

  • Understanding constrained, resource sharing environments.

  • Proven knowledge of cloud-based environments (Azure).

  • Familiarity with ADS, SharePoint, Word, and Visio.

Desired skills:

  • Familiarity with Distributed Intelligence.

  • Familiarity with System engineering best practices and methodologies.

  • Familiarity with UML modelling.

  • Strong desire to learn new technologies and apply that knowledge to increase efficiency and improve Customer experience.

Travel:

Up to 10% per year based on project demands.
