We're seeking a talented and passionate Localization and Accessibility Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. Role Overview:

As a Lead Engineer - Localization and Accessibility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our software applications and platforms are not only technically robust but also culturally sensitive and accessible to a broad spectrum of users worldwide. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement localization strategies, develop accessibility features, and drive innovation in our products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Localization Excellence:

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of internationalization frameworks and best practices, enabling global-first products, content, and design across Alteryx.

  • Collaborate with product teams to identify localization requirements and integrate them seamlessly into the development process.

  • Design and implement efficient localization workflows to enable swift and accurate translations for our global user base.

• Technical Expertise:

  • Develop and maintain tools, scripts, and frameworks that streamline localization processes and enhance accessibility features.

  • Collaborate with software engineers to embed accessibility principles directly into the codebase, ensuring a seamless user experience for all.

  • Lead the definition of the localization/accessibility tooling roadmap with the support of dedicated program managers.

• Global Collaboration:

  • Provide valuable technical mentorship for the Localization and Accessibility team, as well as cross-functional partners.

  • Establish and lead an engineering team focused on internationalization, localization, and accessibility technologies, overseeing automated localization processes for increased efficiency.

  • Work closely with international stakeholders to understand cultural nuances and ensure accurate representation of content in various languages.

• Accessibility Champion:

  • Lead efforts to make our software universally accessible, ensuring compliance with relevant accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, Section 508).

  • Advocate for accessibility best practices and conduct training sessions to spread awareness within the organization.

  • Identify opportunities for education and knowledge-sharing within the Alteryx community on i18n and a11y standard methodologies to optimize localized and accessible versions.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in localization engineering and having accessibility implementation for software applications (i.e., international number and date formatting, language options in DateTime formatting functions and tools, etc.).

• Need strong experience with JavaScript, React, Node, (React Intl / Format.JS), and C#.

• Familiarity with localization tools and platforms and accessibility evaluation tools.

• Strong understanding of internationalization best practices and familiarity with industry standards.

• Proficiency in WCAG 2.

• Familiarity with project tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Rally).
