Overview
TRC is seeking a Vice President, Sales – Canada to lead growth initiatives and expand our consulting services across IT/OT domains, including smart metering, distributed energy resource management, ADMS/EMS/SCADA systems, asset and workforce management, microgrids, and geospatial solutions.
This role requires strong business development expertise, technical acumen, and a proven ability to build trusted relationships within the power and utility sector. You will drive strategic account engagement, support clients in leveraging intelligent technologies, and execute market strategies aligned with TRC’s growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen relationships with strategic power and electric utility clients.
- Build enterprise‑level partnerships and manage targeted accounts to support sustained growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by articulating TRC’s value proposition and aligning solutions with client priorities.
- Lead sales pursuits in the energy market and achieve annual revenue and backlog targets.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute market penetration strategies.
- Partner with service lines to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Produce timely thought‑leadership materials, including fact sheets, white papers, and blog posts.
- Support marketing and sales plans and cross‑sell TRC’s full suite of solutions.
- Lead internal teams and apply strong performance management and leadership capabilities.
- Execute the business development plan with a focus on measurable growth.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Engineering, Science, or Business; graduate degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering or consulting environments.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of driving business expansion in dynamic markets.
- Established relationships with power and utility decision‑
- Proven ability to exceed sales quotas and lead complex deal‑origination and negotiation processes.
- Ability to translate emerging technology trends into actionable client solutions.
- Demonstrated customer advocacy and partnership skills.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and qualification abilities.
- Strong competitive awareness and ability to mitigate market threats.
- Highly motivated team player with strong leadership, creativity, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to build relationships across diverse personalities and backgrounds, with strong organizational discipline.
Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
