Position Summary:
TRC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Distribution Operations Supervisor to join our Distribution Engineering Group in the Power Sector. Based in our Georgia office, this role will oversee all Pole Attachment Inventory Projects, ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, and team performance. The Supervisor will manage both direct and indirect reports, drive project success, and ensure employee utilization goals of 85% are consistently met. This position requires expertise in project pricing, execution, and team leadership, as well as proficiency in industry-specific tools and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of engineers, technicians, and project coordinators, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Ensure employee utilization goals of 85% are achieved through effective resource allocation and team management.
- Identify, hire, and train new team members while mentoring future leaders within the organization.
- Project Oversight:
- Oversee the planning, pricing, bidding, and execution of Pole Attachment Inventory Projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop accurate proposals by reading and comprehending Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and executing projects upon award.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to address challenges effectively.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and pole owners, ensuring their needs are met and questions are answered promptly.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, maintaining open lines of communication and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Operational Excellence:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and TRC’s operational standards.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance project outcomes.
Required Tools & Software Proficiency:
- Project Understanding Tools:
- ESRI Field Maps
- GPS devices
- QGIS database
- Pricing & Project Execution Tools:
- Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Smartsheets
- Knowledge of pole attachment processes and industry standards
- Knowledge of local utility distribution systems and project scope of works
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution engineering, operations, or project management within the power sector.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams and delivering complex projects.
- Ability to identify and hire potential candidates, train new hires, and lead a small team effectively.
- Strong knowledge of pole attachment inventory processes, utility infrastructure, and regulatory requirements.

Client & Stakeholder Communication:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including utility companies, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide regular updates to clients and pole owners regarding project status, timelines, and deliverables.
Operational Excellence:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance project outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with local utility distribution systems, industry standards, and project scope of works.
- Utilize tools such as ESRI Field Maps, GPS devices, and QGIS database to support project understanding and execution.
- Leverage Microsoft applications, Smartsheets, QGIS and other software to manage project pricing, scheduling, and reporting.
Team Development & Mentorship:
- Provide training and guidance to new hires, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for success.
- Mentor team members to develop leadership capabilities and foster a culture of growth and collaboration.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Ensure all projects are priced and bid appropriately, aligning with client expectations and TRC’s business objectives.
- Drive operational success by meeting project deadlines and delivering high-quality results.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
