Overview
TRC is currently seeking a Senior Encroachment Planner to join our highly successful permitting department in the San Francisco Bay Area (specifically, Concord, San Francisco, Oakland, and San Ramon). The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree or higher, along with experience in planning and/or permitting. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with exceptional communication skills, able to handle high-level client-facing tasks and adapt quickly to new strategies at the request of the client and communicate seamlessly up to TRC management. It is crucial that the Senior Encroachment Planner have a strong understanding of customer service in a fast-paced consultant-to-client relationship.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact with clients and oversee the preparation of high-quality planning and permitting documentation.
- Manage project compliance for quality control/assurance, and timeframe/milestone management.
- Support program development efforts, including but not limited to SOP development, automation initiatives, and process improvement proposals. All assigned tasks must be completed in accordance with established deadlines.
- Personal and professional development aligned with the skills required to successfully perform responsibilities for multiple client projects/programs.
- Participate in regularly scheduled check-in meetings or reporting with TRC managers on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. These meetings will provide an opportunity to review progress, discuss any challenges or resource needs, and address any assistance required to maintain performance standards across all assigned duties.
- Abide by company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in planning and/or permitting, or equivalent education/work experience.
- Possess a bachelor-s degree or higher.
- Experience and comfort level building a team from scratch when an idea for a new project comes along.
- A highly motivated self-starter with attention to detail and impeccable follow through.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills are mandatory. Must be customer service oriented.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work well in both team and individual settings.
- Possess strong organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in GIS, document manipulation, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to TRC's insurance carrier.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range
