Overview

TRC is seeking a Senior Consultant to join the UK team in Glasgow, working on the growing body of EHS and ESG due diligence projects, supporting corporate and private equity mergers and acquisitions (M&A), in TRC's UK business.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have a minimum of seven years environmental consulting experience with specific expertise in the delivery of environmental, safety and/or ESG due diligence projects, technical knowledge of contaminated land risk assessment, EHS compliance audits and assessment of ESG risks, as well as the ability and confidence to manage projects, liaise with clients and support colleagues in developing new business. Most importantly, they should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work within an exciting, rapidly growing business environment.

The role will include significant travel both within the UK and internationally, with approximately 30% of time spent travelling or on client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of EHS, Contaminated Land and/or ESG due diligence and transaction advisory projects to ensure they are implemented in a timely manner whilst ensuring technical excellence that meets our clients' needs;
  • Managing subcontractors and partners as required to deliver project specific tasks;
  • Managing and mentoring junior professionals within the practice team;
  • Contributing to marketing efforts, identification of bid opportunities, management of key client relationships, attending client meetings;
  • Preparation of proposals including formulation of work scopes and budgets;
  • Liaison with US colleagues to support UK and European efforts with US/global clients;
  • Technical writing, data management, organizational and communication skills;
  • Supporting the team in preparing proposals;
  • Manage tasks and projects;
  • Apply quality assurance and quality control processes;
  • Travel throughout the UK and internationally to support our clients needs.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree (BSc) or higher in an environmental science or engineering discipline;
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant environmental consulting experience, ideally within an established environmental due diligence practice, with specific experience of corporate and private equity M&A support.
  • Strong technical background in environmental risk assessment and management, with an excellent knowledge of current and future core UK & EU environmental legislation, regulations, and best practice;
  • Ability to work independently or in a project team with excellent problem solving, analytical, writing, and presenting skills;
  • Experience of client liaison (e.g. meetings, presentations) and management;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and with the ability to generate and technically review reports;
  • Commercial awareness, along with financial and time management skills;
  • Ability to deliver to challenging deadlines, occasionally requiring extended working hours to meet client expectations, join conference calls in different time zones and manage global project teams;
  • Be working towards Chartered Environmentalist status (CEnv);
  • Experience of working within a high-quality health and safety management system;
  • Must possess a driving license and passport and be willing to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the basic qualifications the qualifications below are highly desired but not required:

  • Undergraduate degree (BSc) or higher in an environmental science or engineering discipline;
  • A broad knowledge of sustainability trends and business issues and experience of ESG, corporate sustainability and supply chain issues;
  • Experience in Project Management – TRC training will be provided to any future candidate;
  • Safety qualifications / training.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
