Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic PMO Project Manager III to lead and oversee complex, high impact projects within the power sector market. As a senior-level role within the Project Management Office (PMO), the PMO Project Manager III will be responsible for driving project success, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and implementing PMO best practices across multiple initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management expertise, a deep understanding of the power sector, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Project Leadership:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, complex power sector projects within the PMO framework.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting quality standards.
- PMO Governance and Oversight:
- Establish and enforce PMO methodologies, processes, and best practices across all projects.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate project performance, providing strategic insights to PMO leadership.
- Resource and Financial Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
- Oversee resource allocation across multiple projects to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Track expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets and financial goals.
- Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across multiple projects to ensure successful delivery.
- Proactively address project issues and escalate them to senior leadership when
necessary. - Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to address potential challenges.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Serve as the primary liaison between project teams, clients, and PMO leadership.
- Facilitate regular project meetings and provide updates to senior stakeholders and executives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Reporting and Analytics:
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards for PMO leadership and executive teams.
o Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Identify opportunities to improve PMO processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the PMO and project
teams. - Mentor and coach junior project managers and team members, fostering professional
growth and development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Engineering) is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP (Program Management Professional), or PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in the power sector or energy industry.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, high-impact projects within a PMO environment.
- Extensive experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Proficiency in advanced project management software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of PMO frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
- Familiarity with power sector operations, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Exceptional leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- In-depth understanding of power sector regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Awareness of environmental, safety, and sustainability considerations in the energy industry
