Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Energy Data Analyst to support energy efficiency and strategic energy management programs across commercial, institutional, and industrial clients. This role will emphasize data-driven analysis, energy modeling, and process optimization to drive impactful sustainability and operational outcomes. Ideal candidates will have experience in energy analytics, technical operations, and collaborative consulting environments.


Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced data analysis and develop energy usage models using statistical techniques such as regression, multivariate analysis, and weather normalization.
  • Support program design, implementation, and performance evaluation for commercial and industrial energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Develop dashboards and data visualization tools using Python, R, Excel, SQL, and/or Power BI to communicate key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to support energy performance benchmarking, M&V analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Design and automate workflows and processes to improve data accuracy, timeliness, and reporting capabilities.
  • Provide support for enrollment, compliance, and reporting functions within utility and energy management programs.
  • Build and manage SharePoint and other program portals to facilitate document sharing, collaboration, and program tracking.
  • Contribute to technical reports, executive summaries, and customer deliverables with clear, well-documented methodologies and insights.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, IT, and operations to develop solutions aligned with client goals.
  • Support platform operations and become proficient in program systems and reporting tools.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Environmental Science, Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in energy data analysis, technical consulting, utility programs, or process improvement.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience working with large datasets.
  • Basic proficiency in Python, R, or similar tools for data analysis; familiarity with SQL for querying data.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with Measurement & Verification (M&V) protocols and statistical methods for energy modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CMVP or PMVE are a plus.
  • Experience in the energy or utility sector, especially with SEM, demand response, or DSM programs.
  • Advanced programming or data engineering skills (e.g., Python, R, STATA, SAS, JMP).
  • Project planning and operational documentation experience.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require occasional travel.
  • Flexible working arrangements may be available depending on project requirements.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
