Overview

We are looking for a Senior Business/Investment Strategy Analyst to join our Investment Strategy team and support the company’s capital investments in the electric grid of Puerto Rico. This position will play a key role in building and managing the capital investments, ensuring that projects are properly approved and monitored as well as aligned with asset management strategies.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about driving process improvements in capital planning and governance. This role offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with finance, engineering, asset management, and senior leadership to shape the company’s investment strategy and governance processes.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain monitor capital project approvals, financial thresholds, and timelines.
  • Lead financial analysis of capital expenditures, providing variance analysis, forecasting, and investment insights.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management to ensure capital projects align with maintenance cycles, asset life cycles, and replacement strategies.
  • Evaluate legacy projects to assess financial status, governance compliance, and whether re-approval is required.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and enhanced reporting controls for governance and capital tracking.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and transparency in governance execution.
  • Prepare and present capital portfolio investment updates, financial reviews, and governance status reports to senior leadership.
  • Support special analysis projects, ad-hoc requests, and storm restoration efforts as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, capital planning, or investment governance.
  • Strong background in capital project oversight, financial modeling, and variance reporting.
  • Familiarity with asset management principles and life cycle cost analysis is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI, or similar reporting tools preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
