Overview

TRC Companies, Inc. administers a large local electric utility business energy management incentive program in the Oklahoma City, OK area and is seeking an energetic technical Outreach Specialist to engage directly with large commercial and industrial customers as well as small businesses regarding their energy management and opportunities to reduce energy costs with equipment controls and on-site generation.

As an Associate Outreach Consultant, you develop and implement outreach and education strategies to increase participation in utility incentive programs among commercial and industrial customers through direct outreach, industry organization engagement, and by developing relationships with contractors and vendors. Your understanding of the energy, environmental, and economic landscapes in Oklahoma will help you leverage your knowledge of building technologies as you conduct outreach and customer engagement in the Oklahoma City, OK area.


Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one assistance to customers and contractors regarding their energy savings opportunities and how to utilize the program’s offerings.
  • Assist in developing outreach strategies to address specific sectors and markets.
  • Identify outreach opportunities by ascertaining customer requirements and analyzing how the program can reach customers.
  • Manage and track leads and projects utilizing TRC’s project tracking system.
  • Work closely with other functional groups, including program coordination and engineering.
  • Attend and present at tradeshows and events as necessary, to promote and educate Oklahoma businesses on the benefits of the program.
  • Provide sector intelligence by analyzing and summarizing data and trends within given markets and identifying opportunities to engage with these sectors.
  • Execute an established outreach plan for the program, communicating a consistent brand and message.
  • Travel throughout a defined territory required.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements

  • Residency in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to transportation.
  • Educational/Work experience requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or associate’s degree
    • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Sales or business development experience within the energy sector (preferred: building automation system technician, refrigeration system technician, or generator sales and servicing experience) or energy management or facilities operations experience, preferably on behalf of a large organization (preferred: manufacturing or governmental).
  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of outreach and/or project management efforts and suggesting alternatives.
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communications skills.
  • Understanding of target audience and how to effectively engage multiple levels of decision making within a company or government agency.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Team-oriented, hands-on, highly skilled, adaptive, and client-focused.

Additional Helpful experience:

Awareness and familiarity with the Oklahoma energy efficiency and demand response landscape, related regulatory requirements, and key players.

Experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or a similar system to effectively track pipeline, outreach, and business development activities.

Experience working with state agencies, public authorities or utilities

Experience with commercial or industrial site energy efficiency evaluations or audits

Energy Efficiency or Demand Response-related certifications, such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), LEED AP (LEED Accredited Professional), or ISO 50001

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $72,446.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
