Overview
TRC is seeking a Business Development Director to join our dynamic and growing workforce. This role is responsible for generating new clients and new revenue through identifying prospects, cold-calling, building relationships, identifying opportunities, and growing current clients for the purpose of expanding our environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHS&S) consulting business focused in North America. This job requires a willingness to cultivate relationships and identify prospective customer needs and aligning those with TRC offerings and subject matter experts. The Business Development Director is a self- motivated, coachable, growth-oriented individual who is interested in using their excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills to connect with new prospects and sell TRC services. This individual will have the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to a growing, employee-centric, forward-facing company and will report directly to the Vice President of EHS&S Performance Excellence.

Responsibilities
- Experience in selling both management consulting and digital services and solutions to senior and executive level buyers.
- Plan and organize daily work schedule to call on sales prospects working closely with TRC senior consultants and account managers to establish new customers and expand existing accounts.
- Identify prospects in the marketplace, define sales opportunities, and differentiate the key attributes of the prospects that TRC should pursue.
- Serve as primary point of contact and facilitator on behalf of TRC leading external outreach programs with targeted industry associations (e.g. NAEM, Verdantix, etc.) and software vendor partners with focusing on driving engagement that identifies customers and prospects for targeting TRC services
- Facilitate client and prospect participation in TRC hosted and/or related industry association events promoting awareness and engagement to drive new accounts and projects
- Work with TRC sector marketing and sales teams to qualify leads in support of the EHS&S Performance Excellence practice from website, webinars, social media campaigns, etc.
- Lead the qualification of opportunities and introduce TRC senior SMEs into help with technical fact finding and scoping for new opportunities.
- Support the organizing and drafting of initial scopes of work for Performance Excellence Teamt to help expedite sales process where appropriate
- Leverage current sales/pipeline process and related CRM tool (currently Salesforce) and inspire stakeholders to do the same. In addition to maintaining and distributing reports for pipeline and sales meetings.
- Align with and support communication of EHSS Performance Excellence pipeline and trends with sector senior leadership.
- Promote CRM – Opportunity management hygiene for proper forecast modeling of pipeline
- Develop a working knowledge of TRC service lines and senior SMEs that can be leveraged in sales process for existing and / or new logos.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of environmental drivers, market conditions, and trends.
- Open to travel (<25%) to conferencing and trade show events, client visits, etc.
- Exhibit TRC’s core values in all transactions both internally and externally; continuously seek out and provide feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or science and 10 years+ sales / account development experience with demonstrated success.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable interacting with executive level management and proactively reaching out to customers and prospects on a routine basis.
- Familiarity and proficiency with CRM systems.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines by independently managing priorities and workflows.
- Experience in consulting, software sales/support, and/or the environmental field, and understanding EHSS industry preferred.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to flex to meet TRC organizational needs and willingness to meet the customers where they are at.

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and motor vehicle records check.
- Valid Driver’s license.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range
USD $130,000.00 - USD $172,827.00 /Yr.
