Overview

The PMO Process Project Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of project management processes, procedures and standards across the utility’s capital and operational project portfolio. This role ensures that all project teams follow consistent, efficient, and compliant project delivery methodologies aligned with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.


Responsibilities

Process Standardization

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce PMO frameworks, methodologies, workflows, and standards.
  • Establish project lifecycle templates and phase-gate review processes to drive consistency and transparency.
  • Manage project intake, prioritization, and approval processes

• Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve project performance.
  • Benchmark internal practices against industry standards and introduce best practices.

• Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and funding guidelines (e.g., FEMA, state energy commissions, etc.).
  • Conduct periodic process audits, maturity assessments, and post-project reviews to assess adherence and capture lessons learned.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, operations, and regulatory teams to align project delivery processes with enterprise needs.
  • Facilitate training and onboarding on project management methodologies, tools, and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in project or program management in a utility, pharmaceutical or infrastructure environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and managing PMO processes or project governance functions.
  • Strong understanding of utility regulations, capital project cycles, and regulatory funding structures.
  • Experience with FEMA, federal grants, or public funding processes (preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in project management and reporting tools.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
