Overview

TRC is seeking an Environmental System Operator and Technician to join our Engineering, Construction, and Remediation (ECR) team in Northern California. The primary office location is in Concord, CA. The position requires significant, if not full-time, field work year-round, and associated travel throughout the Northern California. Some weekend work and occasional out-of-state travel may also be required.

The successful candidate will have hands on experience with construction, installation, troubleshooting, and operations, maintenance and monitoring (OM&M) of environmental systems including groundwater treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, soil vapor extraction and treatment, and landfill gas collection/treatment. The candidate should also be familiar with collection of samples for environmental analyses of all media (water, soil, air/vapor/gas), permit compliance monitoring, and operation performance. We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail and quality, mechanical aptitude, problem solving and organization skills, and a desire to be part of a growing and high performing team. The successful candidate must also be a leader and work well on teams, as well as be self-motivated and able to work independently and adapt to multiple project assignments and schedules.


Responsibilities

  • Design, install and operate systems for groundwater and soil vapor remediation, industrial wastewater treatment, and landfill gas collection.
  • Collect soil, soil vapor, landfill gas, wastewater, and groundwater samples.
  • Interpret monitoring data, troubleshoot system upsets, and optimize system performance.
  • Self-perform (where applicable) activities related to remediation system operations (piping repairs, pump maintenance, adjustments, etc.).
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors when needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of remediation system OM&M experience in the environmental industry.
  • Strictly adhere to all TRC Health & Safety Standards and Policies, as well as those of our clients.
  • Motivated to prioritize and consistently improve safety and quality.

  • Ability to perform assigned tasks to completion.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Maintain a valid California Driver’s License, a good driving record, and ability and willingness to drive a company vehicle.
  • Able to lift and carry a 50-pound load.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate (with an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course certification) preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelors Degree, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Water Treatment and Water Distribution operator certifications a plus.
  • Ability to operate machinery (e.g., forklift, front loader) a plus.
  • Successfully pass a drug test prior to employment or within five working days from date of hir

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $25.00 - USD $46.00 /Hr.
