Overview
As the GIS Data Developer you will provide technical guidance on complex projects, design FME workbenches and workflows, and ensure data quality.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to FME and GIS analysts on complex projects involving data integration, transformation, and analysis.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of FME workbenches for efficient data processing.
- Led the development and review of Python scripts used to enhance FME workflows and functionalities.
- Mentor and guide analysts in effectively utilizing ArcGIS tools and techniques for data management, analysis, and visualization.
- Review FME errors and ArcGIS model schema issues, identifying and correcting critical errors to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Implement robust QA/QC procedures to ensure all data products meet the highest standards of accuracy and completeness.
- Manage and prioritize project tasks, assigning workloads to analysts based on skillsets and project requirements.
- Track project progress and ensure timely delivery of data products within established deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data needs and develop optimal solutions.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in FME, ArcGIS, and geospatial technologies.
- Document best practices, workflows, and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.
Qualifications
- Operating Knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Pro Environment: Proficiency in using ArcGIS Pro for data management, visualization, editing, and spatial analysis, especially in ETL workflows.
- Translating Requirements to Technical Solutions: Strong ability to review development requirements and design effective technical solutions, specifically for data transformation and integration processes.
- SAFE FME Workbench Configuration and Development: Expertise in configuring, developing, and maintaining SAFE FME workbenches to automate data Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.
- FME Workbench Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize FME workbenches to ensure efficient and accurate data processing.
- Knowledge of Utilities Data: Familiarity with utilities data models and workflows, including: Electric utilities, Gas utilities, Water/Wastewater utilities, Telecommunications infrastructure
- Working Knowledge of the Esri Utility Network Model: Understanding of the Esri Utility Network model for handling complex utility network datasets, integration, and topology management.
- Python Scripting with ArcPy: Proficiency in Python 3.x for writing scripts that automate geoprocessing tasks within ArcGIS Pro, particularly integrating with FME for data workflows.
- Data Integration Expertise: Experience integrating disparate data sources, formats, and models, particularly using FME for automating data conversion and integration processes.
- Quality Assurance in ETL Processes: Ability to evaluate data quality throughout the ETL pipeline, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business requirements.
- Geospatial Data Management and Optimization: Experience managing large geospatial datasets, using FME and ArcGIS to optimize performance, including spatial databases and geodatabases.
