Overview
TRC is seeking an early career to mid-level Environmental/Civil Engineer or Environmental Scientist with 3 to 6 years of previous environmental/civil consulting experience to join our growing Engineering, Construction & Remediation team in Chicago, Illinois. Our engineering staff provide support for permitting, design, and construction of a wide variety of technically challenging projects. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual looking for career growth with a demonstrated background to support regulatory compliance projects, renewable energy projects, or due diligence efforts. We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual with an eye for detail and a desire to be part of a high performing team that will offer you mentorship, support, and professional development opportunities. Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and/or Master of Science Degree in Civil, Geological or Environmental Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited university. Candidates with a degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Hydrogeology, or Geology will also be considered based on relevant experience.
- 3-6 years of previous environmental and/or civil engineering/land development/sitework experience with an environmental or engineering consulting firm.
- Strong communication and writing skills, with an ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment, managing multiple deadlines and varied priorities for multiple Project Managers.
- Proficient technical writing, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, etc.).
- Solid technical and problem-solving skills and a willingness to accept short- and long-term field assignments, with some overnight travel possible.
- Detail-oriented and experienced with effective management and prioritization of multiple simultaneous tasks or projects.
- Previous 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training with current 8-hour refresher.
- A valid driver’s license and able to pass a background check for access to client sites.
- Ability to work in office full time or as required.
- Abide by Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects simultaneously.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
