Overview
TRC is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Market Research Analyst who has minimum 5 years of prior experience, or relevant experience as a Business Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Strategy or Marketing Analyst. This role will primarily provide external-focused, market research support as part of the growing business and market intelligence team. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting research and providing analysis for the Energy, Environmental, and Infrastructure market sectors – primarily in the United States, but also globally.
The Market Research Analyst has the primary responsibility to enable informed decision making by providing the businesses with relevant market and industry information and recommendations related to TRC’s clients in the environmental, infrastructure, and energy markets. They will be responsible for conducting primary and secondary market research in support of TRC’s strategic and tactical initiatives. This position works closely with management and senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed market research, data analysis, and client and/or competitive analysis using publicly available and internally created sources
- Identify, analyze, and interpret industry and market trends or patterns that are relevant to TRC’s client base
- Craft compelling stories to translate research into actionable insights that address key trends
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to create and deliver recommendations that address business problems, support informed decision-making, and enable revenue growth opportunities
- Skilled listener with a fast understanding of stakeholder’s needs
- Provide support to the business development teams on service positioning relative to competitive landscape and client needs
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of prior Market Research Analyst experience, or relevant experience as a Business Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Strategy or Marketing Analyst
- Demonstrated business acumen
- Strong understanding of market research and analysis techniques
- Proficient knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and advanced knowledge of Excel with the ability to learn other applicable software as needed
- Able to nurture and build relationships with internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and staff at all levels required
- Ability to focus on details, handle multiple tasks, and remain highly organized to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Learn concepts quickly and apply them to come up with creative solutions
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Work independently and collaboratively as required
- Proficiency with PowerBI and/or Tableau Desktop is a preferred
- Competency with statistical software like SPSS, SAS, R, Python or SQL is a plus
