TMC is seeking a Director of Transportation Services that will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of highway and transportation infrastructure projects. This individual will manage a team of engineers, project managers, and technical staff while maintaining strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders. The role also includes active involvement in business development, proposal pursuits, and strategic growth of the transportation practice.

Key Responsibilities:
- Solicits, develops, and maintains clients; establishes the organization’s marketing objectives, directs new business research, develops leads, develops strategy, and qualifies projects.
- Maintains positive relationship with current and past clients as assigned.
- Strategizes to decide which opportunities to pursue and the best approach for the pursuit. Pursuit may be conventional, design build or Public Private Partnerships (PPP).
- Active marketing of project including client meetings, proposal preparation and presentations.
- Oversee public and professional relations and other corporate responsibilities as needed.
- Provides fiscal management and planning, including preparation of an annual budget.
- Develops sufficient profitable business to enable the organization to achieve or surpass its annual profit goals.
- Takes appropriate management and administrative actions to help ensure that projects and organization achieve the budgeted levels of contribution to overhead and profit.
- Initiates and maintains contacts with key engineers, officers and officials of other organizations and companies, requiring skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues.
- Negotiate critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.
- Responsible for all aspects of the technical quality, management, and profitability of the organization’s contracts under their control.
- Ensuring that high quality management, administrative, and technical service is provided by project engineers and project managers and acting as necessary to maintain the organization’s high reputation for excellent management of projects.
- Ensure that the organization’s policies, systems, and procedures for technical work, management, and administration are implemented.
- Representing the organization when appropriate at top-level negotiations, discussions, contract signings, professional, and business meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a Professional Engineer in the state of FL.
- 15+ years of diversified engineering experience, at least five of which have been in a supervisory or management capacity consisting of planning, designing, and construction of highway projects.
- Ability to manage multiple professional projects, as well as design teams, staff, and clients.
- Excellent verbal presentation and marketing experience.
- Demonstrated success winning work with FDOT and other local government clients throughout the state of Florida.
- Strong knowledge of Florida’s transportation market, including roadway design, planning, and infrastructure funding.
