The Roadway Design Project Manager is responsible for managing a variety of transportation

engineering projects at various stages, sizes and levels of complexity. This position requires expert

knowledge of transportation engineering principles and the ability to lead a team of junior engineers and technicians to successful delivery of transportation and traffic engineering projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform as a project manager/technical expert on roadway engineering/design projects
  • Expand and manage team of engineers and technicians
  • Provide project management support and mentoring to junior engineering team
  • Responsible for management of project tasks and schedule
  • Prepare and review a variety of transportation engineering design and studies
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and external stakeholders to ensure clear understanding
  • related to project needs and requirements
  • Review project concepts, determine/identify issues and objectives.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews for a variety of transportation engineering projects
  • Active engagement in identifying and preparing project pursuit opportunities
  • Develop and coordinate marketing strategies to expand Traffic & Mobility Consultants LLC
  • (TMC) core competencies and services related to transportation engineering services
  • Develop new client relationships and maintain existing client relationships
  • Represent company by attending public/private client meetings and professional events

Qualifications/License

  • BSCE, MSCE, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of roadway design experience
  • Professional Engineer License Required

Technical Skills

  • Advanced understanding of project management principles
  • Advanced level proficiency in MS-Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced level proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Advanced level proficiency in working with project management software

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of the principles and practices of transportation engineering/roadway
  • design, including applicable requirements, policies, manuals and procedures
  • Experience working with both private and public sector clients
  • Project management experience and able to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail
  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians
