What we are looking for:
We are seeking an Accounting and Finance team member to join our company at our security software automation company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. In this role, you will work closely with the Assistant Controller to maintain and enhance existing accounting practices while spearheading efforts to identify and implement efficiencies within our financial operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our company by ensuring the integrity of our financial data and processes in a rapidly evolving industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Assistant Controller to develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Oversee aspects of the accounting department, including treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, credit cards, and fixed assets.
- Communicate via email with customers and vendors regarding account questions, payments, and outstanding balances.
- Enhance accounting processes and procedures to streamline operations and improve accuracy.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports for management, investors, and external stakeholders to support business initiatives.
- Our frequently used technology includes Excel, QuickBooks, Bill.com, Maxio, Navan, and Avalara.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certificate required.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting.
- Understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and pivot tables to support financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience in QuickBooks, Bill.com or other similar platforms is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience working in the technology or software industry is a plus.

The hiring range for this position is $75,000-$90,000/year and is dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
