PAY RANGE: $20.16 - $24.32 + Shift Premiums

OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the primary purpose of the General Labourer, is to assist the Production Department as needed to ensure successful completion of various production processes. As a member of the RS team, this position will support an organizational culture that cares for other's well-being through best practices in health and safety, in addition to the company's values of respect, integrity, quality, teamwork and professional growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and assist in various production processes, including filament winding, drill & cut operations, extractor crane operations, mandrel preparation, fiberglass and material handling, and module preparation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and ensure proper operation as per work instructions.
  • Inspect materials, modules, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met. Report any defects or process issues promptly.
  • Prepare modules, poles, and orders for shipment, including cutting, drilling, nesting, and packaging as required.
  • Maintain inventory of materials and ensure proper storage to support production efficiency.
  • Perform cleaning, sealing, lubricating, and upkeep of equipment, work areas, and machinery.
  • Assist Quality Assurance with tests, inspections, and process documentation.
  • Support training and cross-training of team members in various production tasks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other machinery safely when certified.
  • Other duties as assigned, including cross-training in other production-related positions.

TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift/Lift Truck experience required; Overhead Crane experience an asset.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely (saws, drills, grinders, routers, nailers).
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings and blueprints, metric and imperial measurements.
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to lift 30+ kg repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in hot, humid, or variable plant conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and willingness to take initiative.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Industrial production environment with hot and humid areas.
  • Interaction with heavy machinery, moving equipment, and limited chemical handling.
  • Physically demanding tasks requiring lifting, standing, and repetitive movements.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including respirators, gloves, and chemical suits as applicable.
