THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a motivated and dependable Maintenance Technician I to join our maintenance team at RS. This role supports the day-to-day maintenance operations at our facility and serves as the foundational level within our Maintenance Hourly Progression System. In this position, you will assist with preventive maintenance tasks, support basic equipment repairs, and work alongside experienced technicians to help ensure safe and reliable plant operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is safety-minded, hands-on, and eager to develop technical skills while contributing to a high-performing maintenance team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support day-to-day maintenance activities across production equipment and facility systems
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks to help ensure safe and efficient operations
- Assist with basic mechanical repairs under the direction of senior maintenance technicians or supervisors
- Safely use common hand and power tools to complete assigned work
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout requirements
- Identify basic processing and manufacturing equipment used throughout the facility
- Use standard and metric measurement tools (tape measure, square, level) for maintenance tasks and installations
- Demonstrate craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality in all work performed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and production team members to support uptime and plant performance
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development as part of the Maintenance Hourly Progression System
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience level will be aligned with demonstrated skill and the appropriate technician level within our Maintenance Progression System.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in industrial maintenance, mechanics, electrical systems, or a related trade is a plus
- Typically, 6 months –2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical support, or a related skilled trade environment
- Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools in an industrial setting
- Willingness to work assigned shifts, including overtime as needed
Physical Requirements

- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers and equipment. , and tools.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and occasional kneeling or crouching, as required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work safely in the assigned work environment.
