Overview: Reporting to the Manager, Facilities & Maintenance, the primary focus of the Maintenance Supervisor is to support and continuously improve all aspects relating to the production and processing of composite utility poles. As a member of the RS team, this position will support an organizational culture that cares for other's well-being through best practices in health and safety, in addition to the company's values of respect, integrity, quality, teamwork and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily review and investigation of equipment performance issues from shift summaries and downtime database entries to coordinate repairs as needed
  • Support skilled trades staff and Production Dept. daily to maintain equipment uptime
  • Generate work orders and assist skilled trades in scheduling, component sourcing, completion and follow up communication
  • Assist in troubleshooting machine issues
  • Involvement in weekly Maintenance communication meetings
  • Administrative duties including handling vacation bookings, shift changes, schedule extra shifts when needed and answering payroll questions, etc. for skilled trades staff
  • Safety work orders-develop and coordinate completion and follow up
  • Monitor wet-out box cleaning performance and schedule
  • Lockout locks system administration
  • Vendor coordination: bulk waste, yard maintenance, propane, janitorial, work clothes, snow maintenance, etc.
  • Participate in weekly Production meetings as scheduled
  • Participate in 5S and Lean activities
  • Hazard and Corrective Action items - work on repairs/remediation of safety issues
  • Building repairs - quote and schedule work with vendors or internal staff
  • IT support - ethernet cables/equipment, material procurement and install, etc.
  • Red Tag Event involvement and follow through
  • JHSC member and meetings
  • Shutdown planning and work orders scheduling
  • Fire systems inspections and repairs
  • Annual budget and capital project planning
  • Act as backup to equipment PM system administrator
  • Maintenance stock room inventory re-ordering and stock status monitoring
  • Other duties as assigned

Training / Qualifications:

  • Technical post-secondary school diploma/degree
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within a manufacturing environment with duties that include coordinating work with skilled trades and CMMS use
  • Ability to coordinate and follow up on multiple tasks at one time

Working Conditions:

  • Interaction with chemicals, heavy machinery, and moving equipment
  • Overtime will be required as necessary
