OVERVIEW:
The primary purpose of the FWPO III is to ensure that all processes are maintained per the standards while winding a mandrel. This area of work is the most crucial in terms of the critical process requirements, overall quality of the module and total output of the production process. As a member of the RS team, this position will support an organizational culture that cares for other's well-being through best practices in Health and Safety, in addition to the company's values of respect, integrity, quality, teamwork and professional growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete knowledge of the wet-out box operations as per operational work instruction
- The ability to assist in trouble shooting the Filament Winding Process
- Perform a wet-out box, front bar assembly and rear roving comb change once a week or as needed
- Perform Wet-Out box "stringing" of roving's
- Perform tension tests after every wet-out box change
- Responsible for cleaning, care and maintaining the winding room tools and equipment throughout the shift
- Responsible for Winding-Room cleanliness and to maintain a Safe and Clean work environment.
- Inspect and evaluate all modules during a wind cycle to ensure quality and process standards are being met and any manufacturing defects are responded to
- Ensure the winding room is production ready for the next shift
- Assist Quality Assurance by providing required Cup Tests at the beginning of each shift.
- Adhere to all QC Alerts, changes to the process and their issues
- Adhere to all Safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Report all equipment related issues to the Production Supervisor
- Ensure proper inventory of materials to perform the job
- Assist the Engineering Department in the research, trial/development, selection of new processes and equipment to improve the production process
- Assist in training and cross training of production team members
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Comply with all Company Safety rules, Provincial and Federal Rules and Regulations
- All other duties as assigned including to be Cross Trained in other Production related positions
TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills an asset
- Strong communication and teamwork skills required
- Knowledge of 5S Principles preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Industrial production environment
- Hot & humid areas within the plant
- Physically demanding tasks
- Personal Protective Equipment required i.e Respirators, Chemical Suits and Gloves
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Interaction with heavy machinery, moving equipment and limited movement of chemicals within the production area
