THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to support our procurement and materials management activities. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you'll be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring on-time delivery to keep production running smoothly.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across operations, finance, and engineering to optimize purchasing efficiency, manage supplier performance, and drive cost savings. This role is an excellent opportunity to build supplier relationships, strengthen procurement processes, and make a measurable impact on operational success.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers to meet material and service requirements.
- Issue RFQs, analyze quotations, and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve best overall value.
- Place and manage purchase orders to ensure materials are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Consolidate purchases and identify cost-saving opportunities to improve procurement efficiency.
- Communicate with internal teams regarding material changes, pricing updates, and lead times.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data within the ERP system and support continuous improvement of procurement processes.
- Process packing slips and invoices to verify receipt and accuracy of purchased materials.
- Support cross-functional teams including Scheduling, Customer Service, and Sales as required.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field, or a minimum of 4-6 years of equivalent relevant work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills focused on achieving best overall value in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Solid understanding of procurement practices, material planning, and inventory control.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- CSCMP (Certified Supply Chain Management Professional) or similar certification an asset.
- Ability to work effectively across departments, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
