The team’s vision is to deliver products that meet customer’s expectations for battery life and power consumption. This will be accomplished by delivering best-in-class power and performance hardware/software designs for new products.
We are seeking a pivotal role in our team, a System Engineer with a robust hardware and software background, to spearhead the power management of our embedded system. This individual will collaborate with product managers, system architects, hardware engineers, and software engineers throughout the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate should be driven by a thirst for knowledge, eager to learn from past experiences, and curious about related fields such as power control, battery/cell technologies, thermal management, performance optimization, and deep learning algorithms.
• In-depth knowledge of both component-level and end-to-end system-level hardware design, integration, and power/performance trade-off
• Experience in architecture and design reviews to ensure features, power, and performance are met
• Strong understanding of power and system performance relates to battery architecture
• Experience in developing or working with power models and software simulation of subsystems/system
• Experience in hardware power/performance optimization of device/subsystems
• Experience in software power/performance optimization of device/subsystems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Solid knowledge of end-to-end quality best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Patient, energetic, and calm under pressure

- Dive deep and take ownership for critical design issues involving algorithm, hardware/firmware interfaces, IoT interfaces, overall system performance, etc.
- Participate in design reviews for complex embedded systems, simulations, algorithms and software development
- Influence and partner to develop the technical strategies for overall system designs
- Solve problems using the most appropriate combination of hardware, software, systems design, architecture, process, or operations.
- Lead reviews of architecture, design, operations, process, or post-incident analysis for your team. Actively participate in reviews of systems owned by partner teams.
- Define and/or refine system requirements, participate in the development and delivery of Interoperability-related features such as system health monitoring, diagnostics, repair, and other self-healing automation.
- Develop embedded software in C/C++

Your work is very hands-on and multi-disciplinary. You will be working closely with vendors, engineers, and product teams. You write documents, carry out experiments, demonstrate proof-of-concepts, build prototypes, and ship sophisticated systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with distributed systems at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
