DESCRIPTION

As a Sr. Software Development Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to develop cloud solutions serving home security devices and services.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about building customer-centric, innovate products, with experience in cloud services, computer vision and machine learning.

You will work closely with an internal team and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and testing. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open, collaborative peer environment.

The ideal candidate:
- Has current and extensive experience designing and building distributed systems and applications
- Shows in-depth expertise working with distributed systems and understands how they are deployed
- Has experience working with machine learning pipelines
- Enjoys working side by side with colleagues and teams leads to solve problems
- Is highly effective and thrives in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities
- Knows what is important when shipping products to customers and has been through the process from start to finish
- Is comfortable with proactive outward communication and technical leadership
- Has experience working with various AWS service offerings and can identify the right architecture for the problem in hand

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
