Support Engineer, Ring Operations

Ring is seeking a Support Engineer to join our Operations team. You will be part of a production support team, ensuring customers have a great experience with our products and supporting our infrastructure. In this position you will have the chance to directly contribute to and improve our systems, processes, and products.
Key job responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and deploy systems and services on AWS and cloud platforms
- Assist leads with initiatives for upgrading and scaling our systems to improve availability, reliability and performance
- Support other technical teams in monitoring operating efficiencies of the platform and responding as needs arise
- Recommend alternative design and platform decisions (not always green-field)
- Collaborate with technical leads to integrate an end-to-end design that is well documented
- Work with global teams of engineers, growing knowledge and skillset
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
- The shift for this position is Sunday - Wednesday, 6am-4pm
A day in the life

About the team
The Ring Solutions Site Reliability Engineering team is a group of operations professionals who are tasked with ensuring that our products are reliable and that our customers have a great experience with them. We are responsible for monitoring the health of devices and services. We proactively work with cross-functional stakeholders to build robust systems to minimize service disruption and respond with corrective actions as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of software development, or 1+ years of technical support experience
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience scripting in modern program languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with distributed operational health and performance monitoring systems.
