Who we are
A future without fossil fuels – that’s our ambitious goal. At Reverion, we strongly believe that biogas will play a key role on the path to a 100% renewable, decentralized energy supply. Our vision is to replace the combustion engines still widely used today with ultra-modern, highly efficient, and flexible micro power plants.

Ready to drive the fleet of the future? Join us as Team Lead Software Development -
Fleet & Services (m/f/x)!
Your mission
As Team Lead for Software Development – Fleet & Services (m/f/x), you are the driving force at the intersection of PLC systems and modern cloud infrastructure. You lead a team that connects our plants, makes real-time data actionable, and actively drives digital solutions like our Remote Plant Operation Cockpit.

1/ Fleet Management & Operations

  • You own and shape the strategy for plant connectivity and secure remote access.
  • You optimize deployment processes (CI/CD) for over-the-air (OTA) updates in the field.
  • You ensure that our plants can be monitored and controlled at all times.

2/ Data Infrastructure

  • You lead the design and operation of a highly available data infrastructure.
  • You manage modern time-series databases (e.g., InfluxDB, ClickHouse) and implement scalable streaming solutions (MQTT, Kafka).
  • You ensure real-time processing of sensor data in close collaboration with our Data Analytics & Digital Solutions team.

3/ Services & Core Libraries

  • You drive the development of central services and libraries (data logging, alarming systems).
  • You are responsible for monitoring IT resources and integrating the field level (e.g., via EtherCAT).
  • You support our PLC developers as well as application and control engineers with software development and feature implementation where needed.

4/ Leadership & Strategy

  • You lead and mentor a team of software developers, supporting both technical and personal growth.
  • You shape the long-term vision for our software stack and translate business requirements into a clear technical roadmap.
  • As the interface between operations, engineering, and data science, you prioritize requirements and translate them into a structured product backlog.
Your profile
  • You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • You bring several years of hands-on experience in software development with hardware integration (ideally in the energy sector or Industrial IoT).
  • You've led development teams (at least technically) and thrive in agile project management (SCRUM) as well as precise requirements engineering.
  • You are skilled in Python, C#, or Rust and have no fear of PLC systems (e.g., Beckhoff TwinCAT).
  • You're a true generalist and act as a translator between cloud architects, DevOps engineers, and PLC programmers.
  • You speak English fluently and German at a good level (minimum B1).

About us
As spin-off from the Technical University of Munich, we're a highly tech-driven energy startup. Our journey began in 2018 with a groundbreaking vision: paving the way to 100% renewable energy by making the most out of biogas. Since then, the team has grown and is ready to overcome all potential market entry barriers.

Reverion is an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We are open to all groups of people without regard to age, color, national origin, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, marital status, or any other legally protected characteristics.

Do I need to meet all the requirements to apply?
Studies by several different sources have shown that, on average, men will apply for a job if they meet 60% of the application requirements. In contrast, women/non-binary people will seek to match a much higher percentage of the requirements before applying.

We encourage everyone to apply and give us a chance to evaluate your skills and experience. We are all learning on the job, and although the listing above has been carefully compiled, we are also open-minded and interested to hear about the value you can bring to the role and Reverion.

How can I demonstrate that I have particular needs in the application process?
For people living with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or neurodiversity, adjustments and support can make a decisive difference in the application process. If you need any specific accommodations (tools, time, etc.) and feel comfortable disclosing this, please let us know.
