Summary:

The Desktop Support Technician II is a part of a team of IT professionals who provide in-house technical PC hardware and software support. This person works with a variety of equipment and systems including desktops, laptops, network connectivity, and Windows software. In addition, this person implements special projects which require researching new technology and solving complex problems. This position is in the Eastern Time Zone, USA.

Job Details:

  • Technical Responsibilities
    • Assist personnel with PCs (Windows & Mac), servers, networks, printers, software, and phones.
    • Package, test, deploy, update, and troubleshoot software.
    • Setup or remove users in Powin systems.
    • Remove/disable system access for departing employees.
    • Analyze desktop hardware and software process to recommend efficiencies.
    • Act as primary resolver for Tier 2 escalations.
    • Work in Azure AD, JAMF, and other management tools.
    • Execute patch compliance and IT security related maintenance tasks.
    • Resolve complex technical issues and incidents independently.
  • Process Responsibilities
    • Write and maintain documentation.
    • Independently maintain ticket hygiene within IT departmental standards.
    • Work with IT Operations team on system administration and networking escalations.
    • Execute routine and project-based procurement tasks within Powin’s standards.
    • Participate in regular on-call rotation, including nights and weekends
    • Coordinate upgrade of desktop equipment and software.
    • Train personnel on how best to use systems and tools.
    • Follow Powin IT Security compliance and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of IT experience.
  • Laptop hardware, Windows Desktop and macOS platform experience required.
  • AzureAD and Microsoft365 experience required.
  • Experience with detailed technical documentation required.
  • A+ and MCP certifications a plus.
  • iOS and Android platform support experience a plus.
  • Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Jira Service Management) a plus.
  • Ability to frequently lift 25lbs and up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to perform tasks effectively with some ambiguity and great flexibility.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel to domestic Powin offices on occasion.
