Job Summary
The Supply Planner is part Supply Chain team and is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective planning of inventory, key materials, and production across the network to meet customer demand while optimizing costs and service levels. This role collaborates with sales, operations, supply chain, and engineering to develop and execute supply planning strategies that support business objectives.
This individual will work with internal stakeholders across the network to consolidate and analyze supply data sets in support of establishing common goals and requirements while holding ERMCO Enterprise performance paramount.
This could include researching industry trends, performing market analysis and present strategic recommendations and related Key Performance Indicators.
This individual should be comfortable speaking and delivering presentations to internal business teams as well as having business acumen. The Supply Planner role offers exposure to a vast knowledge of the inner workings and operations of the premier distribution transformer manufacturer in North America.
This position is onsite at our 7001 Pinecrest Road Raleigh, North Carolina 27613 location.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain supply plans to ensure product availability in line with demand forecasts.
- Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to balance production capacity, inventory, and customer requirements.
- Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, including analysis to support business decisions.
- Conduct internal and external data analysis and make recommendations on planning parameters to establish inventory policies and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Maintain accurate data within planning systems (e.g., ERP, MRP, or APS tools), including safety stock levels and item parameters.
- Work closely with Demand Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and suppliers to manage forecasts, lead times, and replenishment strategies.
- Monitor supply chain performance metrics, identify issues and risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and present supply planning reports to management as required.
- Support new product introductions, discontinuations, and promotions with effective supply plans.
- Use ERP and inventory management systems to track supply plans and generate reports.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and analysis.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- ISM or APICS certification preferred.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in supply planning, demand planning, or inventory management.
- Experience working in a complex, multi-site, and/or multi-ERP environment is preferred. (Transitioning to one ERP, Infor LN, in the near future.)
- Experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) practices is preferred.
- Experience with business systems and/or ERP implementation is preferred.
- Infor LN experience is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook, are required.
- Experience with SQL databases, including building custom queries for production and inventory metrics, inventory management, and S&OP.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and adhere to deadlines.
- Strong financial skills and expertise, including optimizing inventory carrying costs and working capital.
- Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory optimization, and replenishment strategies is preferred.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, and process automation.
- Must be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, independent work environment with limited supervision.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands of the position.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
