Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to lead and centralize our AP operations across multiple manufacturing sites. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our AP function, drive process standardization, and support our transition to Infor LN ERP. The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a passion for continuous improvement.

- Lead and mentor a distributed team of AP clerks across all manufacturing locations.
- Drive standardization of AP processes during and post-ERP implementation (Infor LN).
- Manage full-cycle invoice processing, including coding, three-way matching, approvals, and compliance.
- Centralize vendor payment processing and develop controls for cash forecasting and visibility.
- Review high-volume transactions for accuracy, duplicate detection, and fraud prevention.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Receiving teams to resolve invoice/PO discrepancies.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate and implement AP automation tools and process improvement initiatives.
- Oversee monthly AP close activities including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Monitor and report on AP KPIs, vendor aging, and discount capture.
- Manage 1099 filings and ensure accuracy of sales/use tax on vendor invoices.
- Reconcile multi-state sales tax returns.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; resolve escalated issues professionally.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance management for site-level AP staff.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive AP experience, including 2+ years managing a multi-site team.
- Experience in manufacturing and ERP transitions; Infor LN familiarity is a strong plus.
- Proven success in high-volume AP environments.
- Deep understanding of AP controls, cash disbursement cycles, and vendor compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP/reporting tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience centralizing decentralized AP operations.
- Background in process improvement and automation.
- Knowledge of sales tax regulations and PO workflows.
