Overview
The Senior Legal Operations Administrator provides advanced legal support to corporate attorneys, including assistance with written discovery, budget maintenance, Code of Conduct annual certification, legal correspondence, legal operations, and litigation tracking. This role serves as a liaison between in-house legal teams, outside counsel, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations in the legal function. The Senior Legal Operations Administrator also assists in managing compliance efforts and coordinating the progress of legal cases.
Responsibilities
- Assist with legal discovery processes, including the preparation and organization of written discovery documents.
- Maintain and track legal budgets, ensuring proper allocation and reporting of legal expenses.
- Oversee the annual certification process for the company’s Code of Conduct, ensuring compliance and timely submission.
- Draft, review, and send legal correspondence, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support corporate legal operations, including contract management, case tracking, and document filing.
- Track litigation progress and provide updates to corporate attorneys and relevant stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between company attorneys, outside counsel, and internal departments, facilitating communication and case coordination.
- Compile data from legal digests, encyclopedias, and practice manuals to support legal projects and cases.
- Assemble, proofread, and edit legal documents, including contracts, leases, and agreements.
- Conduct legal research on various projects, as directed by corporate attorneys.
- Assist with compliance efforts, reviewing documents to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of related legal administrative or paralegal experience, supporting attorneys in legal operations and case management.
- Strong knowledge of legal documentation processes, written discovery, and litigation tracking.
- Familiarity with legal budget maintenance and corporate compliance processes.
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal certification or advanced degree in law or a related field.
- Experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, with a focus on litigation and legal operations.
- Proficiency in legal research, document management, and compliance tracking.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with minimal travel required.
- Hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, typing, visual acuity, walking.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
