Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of production departments in processing materials or manufacturing products.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and oversees the daily activities of the production department to achieve timely and efficient production of manufacturing schedules and customer requirements
  • Management of a Production Supervisory Team.
  • Partners with HR to appropriately staff production teams
  • Responsible for maintaining and following ISO plan/procedures
  • Reviews and oversees update of work instructions
  • Responsible for accurate inventory and demand planning to support manufacturing schedules
  • Manages, plans and directs production operations, establishing priorities, processes and sequences for manufacturing
  • Works closely with Production Planning and Scheduling to develop and optimize efficient production plans
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance departments
  • Works with General Manager, Continuous Improvement team and Manufacturing Engineering to provide suitable production equipment and work floor layout to achieve optimal production
  • Maintains production performance data and develops meaningful production and business reports and metrics
  • Partners with General Manager, corporate operations and finance to develop and implement long range business plans including budgets and capital expenditures planning
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays
  • Oversees regular safety audits and plant safety administration. Responsible for timely and thorough accident reporting and accident investigations.
  • Develops and revises standard operational practices and observes work to ensure compliance to standards
  • Resolves worker concerns and/or submits unsettled complaints to HR Management for actions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred; with a minimum of three years of experience in manufacturing or Associate's Degree with a minimum of five of experience in manufacturing or High School Diploma with a minimum of seven years in manufacturing.
