Overview

This position will coordinate activities associated with inventory control by performing the duties listed below either personally or through other departments and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures.
  • Write and maintain accurate procedures for all inventory control processes and functions.
  • Perform Inventory cycle counts. Identify and implement methods for improvement.
  • Implement and manage system controls for inventory storage and movement.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
  • Implement standard metrics for inventory accountability, including loss tolerances and improvement targets.
  • Provide routine management information on inventory performance. Assist buyers in effectively managing stock levels.
  • Standardize and improve inventory processes at all locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in inventory management or supply chain; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have a detailed understanding of MRP and inventory control/management systems and ERP.
  • CPIM certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools is a plus.
  • Possess strong skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively with initiative and drive.
  • Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
