Overview

The VP Sales Operations plays a critical role in driving the Sales organization’s success by optimizing sales processes, enhancing sales productivity and efficiency, and supporting the sales team to drive revenue growth and deliver on customers commitments. This role involves managing sales data, implementing sales technologies, developing sales strategies, and analyzing sales performance to identify areas for improvement. This role is strategically positioned within our distribution transformer manufacturing company to define and implement enterprise-level strategies, ensuring alignment and standardization across all plant operations, thereby guiding our teams towards excellence in manufacturing processes and sales efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior sales leadership to develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies, and plans that align with the company's objectives.
  • Oversee daily sales operations, ensuring processes are efficient and aligned with sales goals.
  • Analyze sales data and metrics to identify trends, forecast sales performance, and provide actionable insights to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Manage the selection, implementation, and optimization of sales technologies and tools, including CRM systems, to enhance sales productivity and customer engagement.
  • Develop maintain, and deliver training programs on sales processes, CRM usage, and other tools to maximize sales team capabilities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Manufacturing, Operations, Inside Sales, Quality, Engineering, and IT teams to ensure seamless operation and achievement of sales objectives.
  • Design, manage, and evaluate sales compensation plans and incentive programs that motivate the sales team and align with business goals.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes and operations to increase efficiency and sales effectiveness.
  • Lead sales meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance team cohesion and capabilities.
  • Lead and develop the sales operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support customer meetings, presentations, and business reviews with data, metrics, KPIs, and content.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience in the Sales, Customers Service, Inside Sales or Engineering field. Advanced degrees or certifications is a plus.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes and strategies.
  • Advanced analytical and data visualization skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales operations, sales management, or a related field within a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Proven track record of implementing successful sales strategies and improving sales operations efficiency.
  • Experience in managing and deploying CRM systems and sales technologies.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
