Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT (Information Technology) Project Management Specialist for a newly formed IT Governance Team, to lead various activities related to projects, procurement, budgeting and change control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full lifecycle IT project management, with a proven track record of mentoring others who are engaged in implementing solutions of all sizes and complexities ensuring that the work is delivered on time, and within budget, while maintaining a high level of quality.

Responsibilities

  • As an IT Governance Team representative, partner, support and collaborate with management in delivering assigned work tasks.
  • Provide guidance and motivation to others by successfully aligning the team to the customer and department needs by establishing milestones, goals, and objectives based on input from key stakeholders.
  • Participate in the exchange of ideas and information within the IT Governance Team, IT department, and with others to ensure best practices are shared broadly throughout the organization.
  • Identify effective solutions to reduce costs by streamlining processes / procedures and standardizing where possible.
  • Recognize potential problem areas in order to identify and implement alternative solutions.
  • Coordinate requirements by gathering, documenting and obtaining stakeholder approval.
  • Ensure scope and timelines are agreed upon by the stakeholders.
  • Develop project schedules to identify and coordinate resources necessary to meet the requirements, as defined by the project scope.
  • Proactively drive tasks to completion in accordance with the project schedule to ensure work is on-track to meet expectations.
  • Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on the project, including variances to the schedule, and identification of issues, risks, and corrective actions taken as necessary.
  • Serve as escalation point to define and mitigate overall risks through conflict and issue resolution across the organization.
  • Coordinate procurement related activities with key stakeholders to meet current and planned needs.
  • Maintain a good working relationship and engage in frequent communication with service provider(s).
  • Track, review, and approve payment requests and change orders.
  • Update project and department financials including budgets, actuals, forecasts and trends.
  • Assist with overseeing change control processes to ensure alignment of scope, schedules, and resources based on approved production changes via release management.
  • Drive relevant, concise, and effective project communication through a variety of mediums to diverse audiences, ensuring relevance and effectiveness of delivery.
  • Recommend, prepare, and conduct training related to implementation of key initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to all IT and department policy, processes, and procedures.
  • May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Business Management, Finance, Computer Science or Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible experience actively leading IT projects of medium size and/or scope.
  • PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Acquired knowledge and experience in manufacturing information system/ shop floor systems operating policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with project methodologies utilizing SDLC, Waterfall, Iterative, Agile or any other project types.
  • Advanced skills working with project management software, Atlassian’s Suite, ServiceNow, FreshWorks, SharePoint, MS Office including Project, and Teams.
  • Proficiency in IT vendor management, procurement, or IT services delivery.
  • Proven track record of negotiating IT contracts and managing vendor
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must be self-motivated, creative, and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical challenges.
  • Experience working with diverse and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Be collaborative in driving decisions and able to deal with all levels of management and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with an acute attention to detail.
