Are you passionate about technology, sustainability, and pioneering smarter energy solutions? myenergi, creators of market-leading products like the zappi EV charger, eddi solar diverter, and harvi energy monitoring devices, are seeking an enthusiastic Firmware & Software Test Automation Engineer. You will play a vital role in shaping the reliability and quality of our cutting-edge eco-smart products through innovative automated testing.
You will develop automated test scripts, design dynamic test harnesses, and execute comprehensive testing strategies that ensure seamless functionality across our entire product range. Leveraging natural language to clearly define product behaviours, your work will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional user experience to customers worldwide.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain robust automated tests that verify the performance and reliability of myenergi' s exciting range of products.
• Collaborate closely with the QA and firmware development teams, proactively identifying and implementing opportunities for automation as new product features emerge.
• Design, specify, and build sophisticated test harnesses tailored to existing and upcoming myenergi devices.
• Use custom APIs and embedded communication protocols to control comprehensive, end-to-end testing of hardware, mobile apps, and backend services.
• Document automated test systems clearly and thoroughly, ensuring all tests and processes are reproducible and transparent.
• Generate detailed test reports and analytics to drive continuous improvement across product lines.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience building clean, maintainable software following SOLID principles and consistent coding standards.
• At least 1-2 years of experience writing end-to-end or unit tests.
• Familiarity with basic electronic concepts and embedded communication protocols such as UART and Ethernet.
• Comfortable working safely with mains-voltage equipment, instrumentation, and hardware setups.
• Basic knowledge or experience with embedded firmware, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi platforms.
Desirable Skills and Experience (advantageous but not essential):
• IT or networking experience, including switch and router configurations.
• Proficiency in network traffic analysis tools such as Wireshark.
• Experience with browser-based automation testing tools like Selenium.
• Knowledge of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using natural language frameworks such as Cucumber and Gherkin.
• Backend web development experience is a significant plus.
