The Role
As a Test Engineer with Moxion Power Co. you’ll develop and execute our system testing roadmap. You will define and refine the step-by-step process to test, and validate products from the ground up. Your primary focus will be on verifying compliance with relevant regulatory standards and certifications, as well as ensuring the overall performance and functionality of our products. You will collaborate closely with the system integration team, which concentrates on validating individual components and features. Your work will contribute directly to the successful deployment of our advanced energy storage solutions in various applications.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for system-level testing.
  • Perform regulatory compliance testing to ensure adherence to industry standards and certifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and testing objectives.
  • Conduct rigorous testing to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability under different operating conditions.
  • Identify and document defects, anomalies, and performance issues, and work with the development team to facilitate their resolution.
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of test environments, equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Analyze test results and generate comprehensive test reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in design reviews to provide input on testability, quality, and regulatory compliance aspects.
  • Collaborate with system integration engineers and cross functionally to coordinate testing efforts and share insights for effective validation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to battery energy storage systems.
  • Provide system level information and collaboration on DVP&R and DFMEA

Skills to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, energy storage technologies, and battery management systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and certifications such as UL, IEC, IEEE, etc., pertaining to battery energy storage systems.
  • Proficiency in testing methodologies, test planning, and test execution.
  • Experience with testing tools and equipment used for system testing and validation.
  • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, etc.) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.

Nice to haves:

  • Battery, power electronics, and high voltage testing experience
  • Test stand setup and configuration experience
  • Equipment evaluation and selection experience

Pay Equity

Maximum amounts are reserved for those candidates that exceed all experience and background requirements. We reserve the right to offer compensation based on level of experience. Moxion has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay within the San Francisco Bay area. If you live outside that region, the range is subject to change.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within the range provided above. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
