As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing support to Plant Management and other members of the site leadership team. Your main focus will be on developing and enhancing manufacturing processes to drive improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety. This position involves overseeing process design and making valuable suggestions to enhance manufacturing, ultimately leading to increased productivity and improved manufacturing costs.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee safety, costs, and quality targets for assigned areas
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods
- Employ knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment to lead efficiency
- Monitor assembly methods and quality control standards
- Write clear, detailed job instructions
- Create and implement process control plans
- Lead 1st article manufacturing validation activity for design changes
- Work with HW Engineering to identify and correct product related issues on the line
- Utilize strong on-the-fly problem solving skills
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow
- Maximize efficiency of equipment layout design and workspace
- Advocate for new product design for manufacturing
- Confer with vendors and engineering to determine product specifications
- Arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts
- Evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs
- Communicate budget needs to leadership using data
- Cross collaborate with engineers and leaders to determine manufacturing capabilities and production schedule
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential needs
- Research and purchase manufacturing technology
- Prioritize projects effectively for team
About You:

Skills to be successful:
- 10+ years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment or related environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical or industrial)
- Design for manufacturing experience; Process design and layout experience
- Expert level of understanding of lean manufacturing concepts
- Strong functional hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of GD&T, basic Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems
- Knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan and ISO/TS
- Proficient in Solidworks, MS applications, and Google Suite
- Experience with power tools and measuring tools
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work various shifts when needed

Maximum amounts are reserved for those candidates that exceed all experience and background requirements. We reserve the right to offer compensation based on level of experience. Moxion has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay within the San Francisco Bay area. If you live outside that region, the range is subject to change.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within the range provided above. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
