The Opportunity

The Director/Sr. Director Pricing and Product Profitability will report directly to the CFO and be a strategic leader responsible for developing and implementing pricing strategies and ensuring the profitability of current and new products. This role requires a deep understanding of financial modeling, an ability to understand competitive dynamics, and the cross-functional partnership skills to drive internal alignment and decision making.

Location: We are remote-first. This role can be based in most states in the US. East Coast is preferred. Occasional travel is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pricing Strategy Development:
    • Lead the development and execution of pricing strategies for solar and other home improvement loan products to achieve business objectives and market competitiveness
    • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer needs to inform pricing decisions
    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product and capital markets teams to align pricing strategies with market positioning and business goals
    • Lead Risk and Pricing Committee (“RPC”) and RPC proposal development in conjunction with sales, product, and risk leaders
  • Product Profitability Management:
    • Monitor and analyze the profitability of existing and new loan products
    • Maintain current pricing models and develop new financial models as needed; including maintaining the SoT for models built technology systems
    • Partner with FP&A to identify opportunities to enhance product margins through cost optimization and efficiency improvements
    • Partner with the capital markets team to understand and develop market return requirements
    • Partner with risk team to develop and maintain loan performance assumptions to be used in pricing decisions
    • Partner with FP&A to provide feasible APR and dealer fee forecasts for near term and long term forecast
  • New Product Development:
    • Partner with various internal stakeholders to create a comprehensive view on product structure, funding, pricing, etc.
    • Partner with the product development team to ensure new product launches are priced appropriately and positioned for success
    • Work closely with the operations, risk, and legal & compliance teams to ensure pricing strategies are feasible and align with regulatory requirements
  • Market and Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct internal and external market research and competitive analysis to stay informed about industry trends and shifts
    • Utilize data analytics to inform pricing strategies and profitability assessments
    • Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
    • Partner with capital markets and risk teams to analyze, set, and forecast loan assumption changes
  • Cross-functional business partnership:
    • Partner with the risk team to develop and optimize risk based pricing strategies
    • Partner with the capital markets team to inform our asset backed securitization (ABS) structures and cash flow model development
    • Partner with treasury on liquidity impact of new products

What you bring to the team

  • 10+ years of driving growth in fintech or financial services companies through financial product roles and/or experience leading financial products strategy, analysis, and pricing for consumer loans
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive pricing strategies that align with business objectives and market demands
  • Proven experience in market analysis and data-driven decision making
  • Ability to build strong cross functional partnerships and lead cross-functional projects, with the ability to influence and drive strategy
  • In-depth understanding of financial modeling
  • Proficiency in financial analysis software and tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Anaplan is a plus)
  • Experience with data analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau) to inform pricing strategies and profitability assessments
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate complex strategies and financial data to senior management and stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree In finance, economics, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience/credentials

Bonus Points

  • Experience working in the solar or home improvement industry - contractor, distributor, finance provider or SaaS

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $215,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
