Key Responsibilities
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
- Project management skill. Determine and define project scope and objectives, Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan and Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the product and process quality; championing and leading efforts such as 5S, Kaizen Events, and other Lean Six Sigma tools.
- Work with Quality and Customer Care teams to analyze any failures, create corrective and preventive action plans to respond to customer complaints.
- Contribute to the training of operators, production supervisors, and others as required, particularly in the area of new and modified processes.
- Provide guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems- or process-related topics.
- Establish manufacturing standards, monitoring actual plant performance, and make proposals for improvement.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree required in BS in Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in a process improvement engineering role
- 2-3 years of experience leading process improvement projects
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Ability to take initiative and to lead change
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
- Skilled at time management and self-managing
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results
- Demonstrated commitment for process improvement
- Customer-focused in defining quality and establishing priorities
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and people management skills
- Multi-task while meeting strict deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
● 5+ years of experience in a process improvement engineering role
● 3+ years of experience leading process improvement projects
● Lean or Six Sigma Certification
● Lean Manufacturing experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
● Ability to sit/stand for long periods.
● Ability to lift up to 20lbs. occasionally.
● Ability to bend, stoop, reach occasionally
