We are seeking a self-motivated and highly organized individual for a position that will specialize in and lead all laboratory operations at our Boston BioFacility.
We are seeking a highly motivated Process Development & Design Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience in both laboratory and field-based process engineering activities. The intern will support thermodynamic data collection using advanced instrumentation and assist in documenting and designing chemical process systems at our Augusta manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities
Laboratory Thermodynamic Analysis
- Develop Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and operate the Crystal16 system by Technobis to determine solubility curves and other thermodynamic properties of Manus products.
- Design and execute experiment for the use of FBRM for the measurement of crystallization kinetics.
- Perform and document temperature-controlled crystallization experiments.
- Analyze data to support formulation and downstream processing decisions.
- Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to integrate findings into process development.
Field Engineering & Process Documentation
- Conduct walkthroughs of production areas to document piping and instrumentation details.
- Create as-built Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for existing unit operations.
- Assist process engineers in updating and designing new P&IDs for future process expansions.
- Support the generation of heat and material balances for process design and optimization projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related industrial discipline.
- Familiarity with chemical process equipment and unit operations.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently in both lab and industrial environments.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or process design software is a plus.
