Job Responsibility
- Working closely with the global aviation team, own and maintain global flight operations standards, SOPs, and manuals for RPAS operations within the India region.
- Define minimum operational readiness criteria for pilots, flight crews, and field teams prior to deployment on live projects.
- Establish and enforce the standardised flight execution models within India in conjunction with Australia, USA, and Canada, while allowing for regulatory localisation.
- Participate in Infravision global best practice as an authority on flight operations, escalation protocols, and go/no-go decision frameworks.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Partner closely with Aviation Safety, EHS, and Regulatory teams to ensure flight operations comply with:
- The DGCA and or MOCACompany SMS (Safety Management System)
- Client and utility-specific aviation requirements.
- Lead incident / near-miss reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans related to flight operations.
- Embed a just culture and high-reliability mindset across all flight operations teams.
Flight Crew Capability & Readiness
- Execute and refine global pilot competency frameworks, currency requirements, and recurrency training standards.
- Ensure alignment between training outcomes and real-world operational performance.
- Validate flight crew readiness for:
- Complex construction environments
- New platforms, payloads, and software releases
- Challenging terrain, weather, and regulatory conditions
Operational Integration & Scale
- Work closely with Head of Aviation, Operational Leaders and the global Aviation Team and Regional Heads to:
- Forecast flight operations capacity
- Support mobilisation for new projects and geographies
- Optimise crew utilisation and deployment models
Technology & Product Feedback Loop
- Act as a bridge between flight operations and engineering/product teams, ensuring:
- Operational learnings are captured and fed into product improvements
- Training and SOPs evolve alongside platform and software changes
- Support flight testing, beta programs, and controlled rollouts of new RPAS platforms or features.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a global network of instructors, check pilots, and flight operations leads.
- Build succession and depth in global flight leadership to reduce single-point dependencies.
