The Role

The People Operations Lead will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable People processes to support our growth and the integration of newly acquired businesses. With a strong emphasis on employee experience, you will enhance our employee value proposition by adopting a product mindset, viewing employees as the end users of our People services. Collaborating with the People team and broader business, you will deliver exceptional support, ensuring a seamless journey that sets our staff up for success across the employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • People Processes Design: Employ design thinking to create user-friendly, simplified, and efficient People processes that empower rather than encumber employees. Focus on streamlining contract issuance, organisational moves, and employee data management to foster an environment where our staff can thrive.
  • Onboarding: Design a ‘best in class’ onboarding process that provides a memorable first experience while equipping new hires with the tools and knowledge for success.
  • M&A Intergration: Support integration efforts from a People Operations perspective during M&A activity, focusing on employee data transfers and the homogenization of policies and processes across newly acquired businesses.
  • Salary Benchmarking: Conduct salary benchmarking to maintain competitiveness in the market and ensure fair compensation practices.
  • People Analytics: Design and maintain sophisticated HR dashboards and reports, providing crucial data insights to the Director of People and Culture, facilitating informed, data-driven strategies across the organisation.
  • Job Levelling: Support the implementation of a new job levelling framework to provide clear, consistent role expectations and facilitate career progression across the business.
  • Total Reward: Develop and manage a comprehensive total reward strategy that includes competitive compensation, benefits, and recognition, all aligned with our company culture to attract and retain top talent.
  • Policy Development: Review and design HR policies to ensure they are current, compliant, and support our strategic goals.
  • HR Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in employment law and ensure all HR practices are compliant.
  • HR Technology: Manage and optimise our HR tech stack and support the rollout of a new HRIS system.

What we’re looking for:

  • HR/People Ops Expertise: At least 6 years of experience in HR/People Operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a focused People Ops role.
  • Scale-Up Experience: You have worked in businesses on a growth trajectory, ideally where headcount has grown from 200 to 450+.
  • Innovative Mindset: Passion for reimagining traditional HR practices, leveraging a product-centric approach to create intuitive and effective HR systems that enhance employee experience.
  • Data-Driven: Robust skills in people analytics, proficient in designing dashboards that drive strategic decisions and enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Creative Problem-Solver: Exceptional analytical abilities with a knack for devising innovative solutions to intricate People Ops issues.
  • Tech-Savvy: Extensive hands-on experience with advanced HRIS platforms, demonstrating success in optimising and rolling out new systems to streamline operations.
  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • HR Compliance: Up-to-date knowledge of new employment laws and regulations.

Extra Credit:

  • M&A Know-How: If you’ve been in the thick of mergers and acquisitions, that’s a big plus.
  • HRIS Savvy: Got a handle on Bamboo, Hibob or similar HRIS systems? That’s a major advantage!
  • Industry Insight: A background in the renewables, energy or insurance sectors? That's definitely a bonus.

Our Recruitment Process:

  • Initial Call: Start with an introductory call with our People Coordinator to discuss the role and your potential fit. (30 mins)
  • Skills-Based Interview: Engage in a detailed discussion about your past experiences with our Director of People & Culture. (1 hr)
  • Stakeholder Interview: Spend time with our Director of Product and Head of Finance to explore alignment and expectations. (1 hr)
  • Task Stage: Present a task to our Director of People & Culture and another senior leader within the business, showcasing your specific skills and approach to problem-solving. (1 hr)
