Utility Tariff Analyst - Remote India or Brazil

Summary
Utility Tariff Analysts are responsible for creating, testing, and maintaining precise and accurate calculation models of utility tariffs that guide billing and analysis for utility customers using proprietary tools. These Models will form the core of the end products, and hence must be precise and accurate. To achieve this, Utility Tariff Analysts must be detail-focused, willing to work hard and quickly learn new tools and knowledge.
This role requires a knowledge of database concepts and provides an opportunity to drive positive energy consumption habits and catalyze a clean energy future.
Responsibilities
- Understand complex utility tariffs, rates, and programs, convert them into a model, and maintain/update it based on additional requirements.
- Responsible for communicating and co-ordinating with the Delivery team.
- Assist Delivery team in validating the input data received from client for modelling work.
- Work with cross functional teams to resolve issues related to Tariff logic in internal tools and external Products.
- Participate in sprint planning and other ceremonies, passionately working towards fulfilling the committed sprint goals.
- Perform Validation and Regression testing on products and follow change management process while releasing the tariff model updates to higher environments.
- Monitor the shadow bills match rate against actual bills, investigate the root cause if it falls outside acceptable limits, and resolve the issue accordingly.
- Participate in generating impactful ideas and implementing effective automations and efficiency improvement initiatives to reduce time consumption and the error-prone nature of labor-intensive manual tasks.
- Share knowledge and provide expertise on modelling systems, tariffs and existing models and processes to team members.
- Continuous creation and maintenance of documentation for requirements, enhancements, and developed processes.
Required Qualifications (Must Have) :
- Overall Industry experience 2-4 years
- Bachelor’s Degree in analytical subject area. E.g., Engineering, Statistics…. etc.
- Proficient with Advanced Microsoft Excel functions and pivot tables.
- Understanding of relational database concepts and Experience working with SQL Queries.
- Familiarity with writing programs using Python or Shell scripts.
- Good Analytical and Logical skills.
- Demonstrable aptitude for Innovation and Problem solving.
- Good communication skills and ability to work across Cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):

Experience in Energy Industry and familiar with basic concepts of Utility (electrical/gas...) tariffs

Experience and Knowledge with tools like; Microsoft Excel macros, Power query
·
Passionate about working with data and data analyses.
· 1+ year experience in Agile SCRUM Methodology.
