⚡As an EV Test Technician at FLO, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge electric vehicle charging technology and play a crucial role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our products. Your responsibilities will include:
SCHEDULE:
✔️ Full Time Job. 40 Hours / Week.
✔️ Summer Scheduling: Monday - Thursday 7:00AM - 4:30PM (9 Hours M-Th) ; Friday 8:00AM-12:00PM (half-day on Fridays)
✔️ Regular Scheduling: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM
LOCATION
📍 Location: This is a full-time position based out of our Auburn Hills, MI manufacturing site.
⚡ Responsibilities...
- Performing safety, functional and performance tests on EV charging stations
- Documenting test results and writing detailed reports
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in product design and testing processes
- Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems and identifying problems. Replacing or repairing defective parts. Electrical and mechanical.
- Make emergency repairs while complying with assembly work instructions and safety standards. Conduct regular inspection of test equipment. Communicate with other company personnel on-site and remote.
- Requires advanced abilities in the use of a PC and application software.
- Maintain appropriate logs and records of test bench operation.
- Knowledge of safe working practices around high voltage electrical equipment.
- Worked with automated test equipment (ATE) and test software. Strong understanding of digital electronics. Document test procedures, findings, and root cause analysis of failures. Basic knowledge of electrical system and electrical circuits and components. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, Basic LOTO procedures.Record, analyze and summarize test data using MS Word/Excel, PowerPoint etc., Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fabricate simple test harnesses and test fixtures using hand tools and soldering station. Experience with all electrical metering equipment including voltage, resistance, amperage, wattage, multimeters, meggers, milliamps, and best work practices.
- Strong written communication skills with an eye for details in documents
- Ideally, Bring Knowledge and ability in service of instruments, electrical gear, PLC hardware and other
- PLC Programming experience and troubleshooting ability
- Use of electrical measurement equipment (oscilloscope, digital multi meter, data acquisition, PC based diagnostic tools)
- Collaborate with design engineers and other team members to resolve identified issues and improve test methodologies.

- Physical dexterity to climb ladders and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Perform duties assigned by and under the supervision of management/engineering
- Ability to make judgement call on escalation
- Checks job sites for potential hazards; understands and adheres to all applicable safety rules, regulations, practices, or procedures
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a team.
- Actively participate in improving processes. Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Associate degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related field (or 5 years equivalent experience).
- Minimum two years' experience in one or more of the following fields: Controls, Machine/Panel Building, HVAC. Some IT/Linux experience is a plus.
- Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection.
- Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required.
- Electronic or instrumentation training at a recognized trade or technical school. Military training equivalent
- A high school diploma and equivalent work experience as an electrician or other type of electrical, mechanical, or industrial technician.
