We are seeking a highly motivated and organized business development manager to join the FLO family. The Business Development Manager, Smart Cities & Government is charged with crafting a go- to market strategy aimed at selling electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to municipalities and state governments across the Eastern US. This position will work in close collaboration with the sales and public policy leadership teams to drive sales and help deploy charging stations across the region. The ideal candidate has experience in B2G sales, a strong understanding of EV technology, experience working in the public policy sector, and a passion for sustainable transportation.


  • Design, develop, and evolve go to market strategy for Smart Cities & Government.
  • Analyze and develop/reformulate a plan based on current targets, goals and current successes.
  • Engage and build relationships with key stakeholders across municipalities and local governments.
  • Collaborate with FLO’s marketing team to develop and execute targeted campaigns to generate leads and drive sales.
  • Work closely with other sales representatives to ensure effective coverage of target markets and efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and provide training to customers on the use and benefits of EV charging stations.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers, ensuring win-win outcomes for both parties.
  • Provide input on governmental policies and regulations that may affect the sales of EV charging stations in the target markets.
  • Track sales progress, report on sales metrics, and provide regular updates the Territory Sales Manager and Sales Director on sales performance and market trends.
  • Serve as an expert on funding, grants, incentive programs.
  • Serve as a consultant and educator to key stakeholders before RFP’s are released and manage the RFP process in conjunction with FLO’s internal team to secure wins.
  • Align cross functionally with FLO Solution Engineering Team to create in-depth specification program for Smart Cities & Governments.
  • Continued review of emerging markets – incentives, drivers, goals. Proactively identify local partners in these areas.
  • Ensure that leads passed through to distribution partners are contacted and taken care of in a timely manner.


  • 3-5 years selling into the government space;
  • A deep understanding of the EV Charging market in the US;
  • Deep ties within Smart Cities & Governments;
  • Ability to strategically identify potential partners;
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills;
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with other sales and marketing teams;
  • Ability to manage and control the RFP process;
  • A strong focus on team culture and collaboration;
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines;
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events;
