What you’ll do…
We are seeking a disciplined and results-driven Operations Manager to lead site operations at an assigned ERock power generation facility. This role is responsible for building, leading, and sustaining a high-performing operations team that delivers safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
This position is site-based and accountable for the day-to-day execution of operations across all generation and balance-of-plant systems. The Operations Manager establishes operational structure, shift coverage, training programs, and procedures while ensuring consistent execution aligned with company standards.
This role operates within ERock’s management model, partnering closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and corporate functional teams to ensure operational readiness and long-term performance.
This role reports to the Site Manager at the assigned site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and supervising Operations personnel to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
- Establishing and maintaining 24/7 shift coverage, including schedules, rotations, and on-call support.
- Driving consistent execution of operating procedures, switching activities, and system operations.
- Monitoring plant performance and responding to alarms, abnormal conditions, and grid events.
- Ensuring accurate documentation of operational activities, logs, and shift turnover reporting.
- Supporting development, validation, and implementation of operating procedures and work instructions.
- Promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture, including adherence to PPE, LOTO, and environmental requirements.
- Coordinating with Maintenance and Engineering to communicate equipment status, support outages, and prioritize corrective actions.
- Monitoring key performance indicators such as availability, reliability, and operational performance, and driving continuous improvement.
- Overseeing contractor activities impacting plant operations to ensure alignment with safety and operational expectations.
- Supporting training and qualification of operators through structured programs, drills, and ongoing development.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory, environmental, and operational requirements.
- Providing clear and timely reporting to the Plant Manager and corporate leadership.
Role Scope & Leadership Expectations
- This role is responsible for the full execution of site operations and the development of the operations team. The Operations Manager sets expectations for performance, accountability, and professionalism across all shift personnel.
- Success in this role requires strong leadership, operational discipline, and the ability to drive consistency in execution across a 24/7 operating environment. The Operations Manager is expected to identify gaps, improve processes, and elevate team capability over time.
- This role serves as a key interface between site operations and corporate functional teams, ensuring alignment with company standards while maintaining ownership of site execution.
Required Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in power generation, industrial operations, or a similar environment.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a 24/7 operations setting.
- Strong understanding of plant operations, systems, and operational workflows.
- Ability to read and follow technical procedures and operational documentation.
- Experience with control systems (DCS/HMI) and plant monitoring systems is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and system use., regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Experience serving as an operational point of contact for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

- Have experience leading operations in a power generation or industrial environment.
- Are highly disciplined and execution-focused, with strong attention to detail.
- Prioritize safety and consistently reinforce standards and expectations.
- Are comfortable operating in a 24/7 environment with responsibility for shift-based teams.
- Communicate clearly, lead from the front, and hold teams accountable.
- Are proactive in identifying issues and driving solutions.
- Take ownership of performance and continuously look for ways to improve operations.
- Work effectively across teams and build strong cross-functional relationships.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work in industrial and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, humidity, and cold.
- Regular presence in operating areas with exposure to mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and navigate the site for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety standards.
